led lighting in raising chickens

LED lighting becomes more and more popular especially in the rapid development in agriculture. Researchers at the University of California, Davis certified that to raise chickens by LED can not only prevent bird flu but also to promote the health and output of the chickens.

Traditionally, lighting is always the supporting part in poultry industry. Especially for Taiwan, locating at the subtropical zone, sufficient sunshine makes general henneries adjusting sunshine duration and indoor temperature by windows and curtains. But due to the open environment, it’s easy to be affected by the bird flu from outside. The developed countries in the frigid zone like Japan Europe and America, it is the mainstream to use closed henneries to improve the effect of humiture control and disease injection from poultries outside. And lighting turns into the key of controlling the growth of chickens.

In 2008, with the help of consulting company, Taiwan enterprise Huangyou Technology and East-West Trade Company, largest poultry device provider in Japan, jointly developed the special LED bulb for chicken raising by welding ultrasonic wave and lamp body successfully, satisfying the need for stepless dimming, waterproof, dustproof and anticorrosion for one time merely. So far, it has sold out about 200 thousand bulbs.

It’s reported that the LED dimming and lighting system (including LED bulb and tube) supplied by direct voltage will come out this year. Except for Japan, it will more actively sell to leading states in poultry industry like Holand, Germany and other EU countries.

The system is different from the existing alternating current system and gets rid of the shortcomings of general alternating current dimming, none-100% dimming and low dimming rate shining. It adjusted the light by the most suitable LED PWM and solved the most annoying problem of strobe frequency for one time merely. It makes the poultry be blind to the flicker even they have better dynamic eyesight than human being which truly accorded with regulations of the animal welfare law. With the addition of the safety of direct current, there will no danger of electric shock even the light is near the chickens.
